Except that this set is a modern run of the Canadian Pacific, a perfect match to many of those prewar and postwar Marx steam engines.. This set was one the earlier items made in that fantastic re-run of Marx, the "modern Marx" that was too short lived! This set was made in a few variations--set #1 and Set #2.

Within each set, there were two versions: open windows or closed windows. This one features the open windows. Metal tab and slot couplers.

The cars are mostly excellent to like new still with a shiny patina on the tin lithography. There are a few roof scratches, pictured.

Some of the axles and backs of some wheels have some surface rust. We can clean the wheels and axles up some upon request; we like to leave that option to the new owner as everyone has their own preferred methods. Beautiful tinplate, shiny truck sides.
