Walthers 1954 Santa Fe El Capitan Deluxe Version Set, Extra Coaches, Sound Car
The El Capitan was Santa Fe's premier all-coach train from Chicago to the west coast. Walthers 1954 version is very well done and the tail end coach observation is really awesome lit up (see pics). This is a deluxe set with a sound-equipped baggage dorm. This core set includes 3 coaches and one lunch counter diner.
As per Hailey's book "A Quarter century of Santa Fe Consists", the prototype train had 6 coaches and 2 lunch counter diners. 3 46 seat coaches (one coach we added the DCC light kit and figures).
